Our Story
Where Evolak Bata Began
There is a version of craftsmanship that the world has mostly forgotten where someone sits down, picks up their tools, and makes something with their hands from beginning to end. That version is what Evolak Bata was built on.
We started in Lagos with a straightforward idea: that quality leather goods shoes, bags, belts, wristbands should be made properly or not at all. No shortcuts. No outsourced finishing. No mass production. Just skilled hands, good leather, and the patience to do it right.
Over time, Evolak Bata grew from a small workshop into a brand that dresses both men and women across Lagos and beyond. Our customers are people who notice quality. People who would rather have one great pair of shoes than five ordinary ones. People who understand that something made by hand carries a little bit of the maker’s spirit in it.
Craftsmanship Above Everything
We do not rush. Every cut, stitch, and finish is done by hand, checked carefully, and signed off only when it meets our standard. If it is not right, we do it again.
Proudly Nigerian
We use locally sourced leather, we operate from Lagos, and we celebrate Nigerian artistry at every step. This is not just where we make things — it is who we are.
Made for Every Body
Our shoes, bags, belts, and accessories are designed for men and women equally. Style is for everyone, and great craftsmanship has no gender.
Teaching What We Know
Through our apprenticeship programme, we pass on everything we know to the next generation of craftspeople. A skill learned here is a livelihood earned for life.
The Hand Behind the Work
Every brand has a story, and ours begins with a founder who learned to love leather the old-fashioned way by working with it. Evolak Bata is led by craftspeople who are passionate about what they do, obsessive about quality, and genuinely excited every time a customer puts on a piece for the first time.
